A shingle style roof, rebuilt for the next fifty years
Replaced a 46-square roof with 14 valleys, added ridge ventilation and replaced four skylights.

The challenge
Three layers of old shingles, soft decking along the eaves and severe ice dams every winter over the kitchen.
What we did
Full tear-off to the deck with 31 sheets of decking replaced along the eaves.
Ice and water shield on the first six feet of every eave and full valleys.
Balanced soffit intake and ridge exhaust after sealing attic bypasses.
Hand-formed 16 oz copper valleys to match the original house details.
The result
The first winter after the project produced no ice dams, and upstairs rooms measured noticeably cooler in July.
Twelve days, fourteen valleys and not a single nail in the driveway. The crew was remarkable.
